- 3 slices of whole wheat bread
- Medium bowl
- Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) with rack in middle position.
- Put the 3 slices of bread directly on the oven racks.
- Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until dry and golden brown or darker.
- Remove from the oven and cool on a rack.
- Crumble the bread, then reduce it to breadcrumbs in a blender.
- Empty breadcrumbs into a medium bowl.
- It is possible to use a grater or even crush the dry bread with a pot or mortar if a blender is not available.
