Whole Wheat Bread Crumbs

Ingredients

  • 3 slices of whole wheat bread

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Medium bowl

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C) with rack in middle position.
  2. Put the 3 slices of bread directly on the oven racks.
  3. Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until dry and golden brown or darker.
  4. Remove from the oven and cool on a rack.
  5. Crumble the bread, then reduce it to breadcrumbs in a blender.
  6. Empty breadcrumbs into a medium bowl.

Equipment

  • It is possible to use a grater or even crush the dry bread with a pot or mortar if a blender is not available.
