Category: Healthy eating, Physical activity,
Group size: 1 group, More than 1 group,
Duration: 30+ min.,
Intensity: Moderate,

The idea for this activity came from a project by the summer 2017 camp counselors at Camp Lucille-Teasedale (Blainville).

Description and organisation

This activity is based on tic-tac-toe, but with a 4×4 grid to include all 4 food groups. The level of difficulty is higher, because a line must be drawn through an item from each group. Divide the campers into 2 teams.

There are 3 levels of difficulty.

In the first part, each team has to draw a diagonal, horizontal, or vertical line through the 4 food groups (1 item from each group).

In the second part, the game is played the same way, but the campers pick a different way of moving to place the food item on the grid (e.g., hop on 1 foot, walk on all fours).

In the third part, the campers pair up with a teammates and take turns bringing the item to the grid while wearing a blindfold while their partner provides guidance.
